How To Reach Anapji Pond

Getting to Anapji Pond, Gyeongju, South Korea

Anapji Pond, also known as Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, is located in the city of Gyeongju, which is in the southeastern part of South Korea. Here are different ways to reach this historical site:

By Air:

If you are coming from outside South Korea, the nearest airport to Gyeongju is Pohang Airport (KPO). There are domestic flights to Pohang from Seoul. From Pohang, you can take a bus or taxi to Gyeongju, which is about 30 minutes away by car.

By Train:

The high-speed train service, KTX, connects major cities in South Korea to Gyeongju Station. Once at the Gyeongju train station, you can take a taxi directly to Anapji Pond. The journey from the station to the pond is about 10 minutes.

By Bus:

Gyeongju is well serviced by intercity buses. From Seoul's Express Bus Terminal or Dong Seoul Bus Terminal, there are direct buses to Gyeongju Express Bus Terminal. The travel time is approximately 4 hours. Upon arriving in Gyeongju, local buses are available, and you can use bus numbers 10, 11, or 700, disembarking at the 'Gyeongju National Museum' stop, which is a short walk to Anapji Pond.

By Car:

Renting a car and driving to Anapji Pond is a convenient option if you prefer to manage your own schedule. Gyeongju is connected to major highways, and the drive from Seoul can take approximately 4 to 5 hours, depending on traffic.

Transportation within Gyeongju:

Taxis and local buses are readily available for transportation within the city. There is also the option to rent a bike if you are staying in Gyeongju, as the city is quite bike-friendly and the pond is accessible by bicycle as well.
