The most convenient way to reach the fortress is by car. From the center of Kapan, take the M-2 highway south for about 8 km before turning left at the sign indicating the direction to Baghaberd. If you are not driving, you can hire a taxi from Kapan. Make sure to negotiate the fare in advance, and it is advisable to arrange a pick-up time for your return trip, as it may be difficult to find taxis near the fortress.
Public transport to the fortress is not commonly available. However, you may find local buses or minibuses headed towards nearby villages. From there, you will need to hike to reach Baghaberd. This option is best suited for the more adventurous traveler.
