Best Time to Visit Betla National Park

Betla National Park, located in the Chota Nagpur Plateau of Jharkhand, is a prime wildlife habitat characterized by its dense forest cover and a wide array of wildlife. The ideal time to visit Betla National Park is during the cooler months from November to April. During this period, the weather is pleasant with milder temperatures that not only make safaris more comfortable but also increase the chances of wildlife sightings. Animals are more active in the cooler parts of the day, often seen around water bodies, making this season particularly rewarding for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers.

It's worth noting that the park remains open to visitors throughout the year, however, the monsoon season, which typically spans from June to September, can be challenging due to heavy rainfall leading to lush vegetation making the wildlife harder to spot. Additionally, certain areas of the park might be inaccessible due to waterlogging or the risk of flooding. March and April can be specifically interesting, as the temperatures start rising before the monsoon, causing animals to frequently visit watering holes, thereby providing ample opportunities for sightings in their natural habitat. While the summer heat from May to June can be intense, mornings and late afternoons are still viable for game drives.
