Buddha Park Vientiane, also known as Xieng Khuan, is a sculpture park located 25 km southeast from the heart of Vientiane, Laos. This site is one of the most intriguing and unusual attractions in Laos, featuring a collection of over 200 Hindu and Buddhist statues, made from reinforced concrete and scattered over a lush green field. Created in 1958 by Luang Pu Bunleua Sulilat, a monk who studied both Buddhism and Hinduism, this eccentric park is a testament to his unique perspective on religion and art. The park's most iconic structure is a massive reclining Buddha, but visitors are also captivated by the diverse depictions of gods, demons, and animals from both faiths. One notable feature is a giant pumpkin-shaped structure with a tree growing from its top; visitors can enter through a demon's mouth and climb to the top for a panoramic view of the whole park. Buddha Park does not serve as a temple for religious worship but rather as a place of art and culture that attracts tourists and locals alike.
