Getting to Diniwid Beach, Boracay, Philippines
Diniwid Beach is a serene and lesser-known beach located north of the famous White Beach on the island of Boracay. Here’s how you can reach this tropical paradise:
Flight to Boracay (Caticlan or Kalibo)
To begin your journey to Diniwid Beach, you'll first need to fly to one of the two gateways to the island:
- Caticlan Airport (Godofredo P. Ramos Airport): The closest airport to Boracay, only a short ferry ride away from the island.
- Kalibo International Airport: Around 1.5 to 2 hours drive to the Caticlan jetty port. Buses and vans are available for transfers.
Boat Transfer to Boracay Island
Upon reaching the airport, proceed to the port:
- From Caticlan Airport, you can take a tricycle or walk to the Caticlan Jetty Port.
- From Kalibo Airport, you need to take a bus or van to Caticlan Jetty Port.
Then, take a boat or ferry to Boracay. The journey takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
Land Transfer to Diniwid Beach
Once you’re on Boracay Island, you can reach Diniwid Beach by:
- Tricycle: Hire a tricycle from the Boracay Port (Cagban Port) to take you directly to Diniwid Beach.
- Shuttle Service: If your accommodation offers a shuttle service, you can arrange for them to pick you up from the port.
- On Foot: From White Beach, you can take a 10-15 minute walk through a cliff-side path that leads directly to Diniwid Beach. This scenic route offers views of the sea and coast.
Note that all visitors must pay environmental and terminal fees at Caticlan Jetty Port before entering Boracay.
Once you arrive at Diniwid Beach, you’ll find it a more peaceful and relaxed alternative to the often crowded White Beach, perfect for enjoying the crystal-clear waters and beautiful sunsets.
