Boracay is a small island in the Philippines located approximately 315 km south of Manila and 2 km off the northwest tip of Panay Island in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines. Renowned for its powdery white sand beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters, it is one of the most famous beach destinations in the Philippines. The island's most well-known beach is the 4 km long White Beach, which is divided into Stations 1, 2, and 3. Station 1 is known for its luxury resorts and quieter ambiance, Station 2 is the commercial and geographical center with a mix of shops, restaurants, and bars, and Station 3 is where more budget-friendly accommodations can be found. Boracay was once a quiet fishing village until its natural beauty was discovered by travelers. The island underwent major rehabilitation to manage the environmental damage due to over-tourism and has since prioritized sustainable tourism practices. Activities on the island include island hopping, snorkeling, diving, parasailing, and sunset sailing. Despite its small size, Boracay's environment comprises more than just beaches, including green landscapes, coral reefs, and rich marine life.
