Dresden Castle, also known as the Royal Palace (Residenzschloss), is one of the oldest buildings in Dresden, situated in the capital of the German state of Saxony. Throughout its history, the castle has been a residence for Electors and Kings of Saxony, which has left it with a rich architectural tapestry, reflecting Renaissance, Baroque, and Neo-Renaissance influences. After being heavily damaged during World War II, the castle has been under reconstruction and renovations. Today, it serves as a museum complex, housing multiple significant collections including the Historic Green Vault and the New Green Vault, the Coin Cabinet, the Cabinet of Prints, Drawings and Photographs, and the Armory with the Turkish Chamber. This historic edifice offers visitors a chance to journey through Saxony's past and view treasured art and artifacts. Its distinctive features, such as the Hausmannsturm (the Hausmann Tower), contribute to its commanding presence in Dresden's cityscape.
