Best Time To Visit Dzükou Valley (Kohima) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Dzükou Valley, Kohima

Dzükou Valley, renowned for its natural beauty and biodiversity, is one of the prime attractions in Kohima, Nagaland, India. The valley is famous for its seasonal flowers and the serenity it offers to trekkers and travelers alike. The ideal time to visit Dzükou Valley is during the summer months, from late June to September. During this period, the monsoon rains bless the region, and the valley is vibrant with lush greenery and a myriad of flowers, including its famed Dzükou Lilies. The temperatures are pleasant for hiking, ranging between 15°C to 25°C, making the trek an enjoyable endeavor.

Another perfect time to visit is the post-monsoon period stretching from October to early December. During this season, the rainfall reduces significantly, and the valley showcases a different palette of colors as the flora prepares for the winter. This is also an exceptional period for photographers and nature enthusiasts looking to capture the scenic beauty without the monsoon mist. However, it is advisable to avoid the winter months, particularly from December to February, as the temperatures can drop significantly, making the trek potentially challenging with frozen trails. Visiting outside the recommended periods may not provide the same fulfilling experience as the monsoon or post-monsoon seasons do.
