It is recommended to carry light and warm clothing, sturdy trekking shoes, water, snacks, a first aid kit, a map, a compass or GPS device, a flashlight, and a camera or smartphone for taking pictures. A tent and a sleeping bag are also necessary if you plan to camp overnight.
Domestic tourists do not need a permit to visit Dzükou Valley; however, foreign tourists require a Protected Area Permit (PAP) to visit any part of Nagaland, including the Dzükou Valley. This permit can be obtained from the Nagaland House in Delhi, Kolkata, or the Nagaland State Government's Home Department.
Accommodation in Dzükou Valley is basic and limited mainly to the rest house and dormitory provided by the Viswema Village Council and Jakhama Village Council. These provide simple beds and basic amenities. Camping is also an option for overnight stays, and many trekkers prefer to bring their own tents.
