Getting to Fujairah

The Emirate of Fujairah is one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates, located on the east coast. Reaching Fujairah is fairly straightforward, whether you are coming from within the UAE or from international destinations.

By Air

Fujairah International Airport (FJR) is the main airport in the region but has limited passenger services. Most travelers choose to fly into Dubai International Airport (DXB) or Sharjah International Airport (SHJ) due to the higher volume of international flights and then travel by road to Fujairah.

From Dubai:

• You can rent a car and drive to Fujairah, which is a journey of about 1.5 to 2 hours via Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311) and then connecting to the Fujairah - Dubai Highway (E89).
• Taxi services are also available for a direct trip to Fujairah. It's advisable to negotiate the fare in advance.
• Buses operated by the state-run transport company, Intercity Bus Service, regularly run between Dubai and Fujairah.

From Sharjah:

• Driving from Sharjah to Fujairah will take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, using the E88 and then heading onto the E84.
• Taxis and car rental services are also available from Sharjah.
• Similar to Dubai, there are Intercity Bus Services that connect Sharjah to Fujairah regularly.

By Road from Neighboring Emirates

If you are coming from other Emirates like Abu Dhabi or Ras Al Khaimah, it's best to navigate using a GPS for the most direct route. The Emirates is well connected by highways, and road signs are in both Arabic and English.
