The Godavari River Ghat in Nanded, Maharashtra, is a serene destination with spiritual significance, popular among pilgrims and travelers alike. The optimal time to visit the ghats, considering the climate and traditional events, is generally between October and March. During these months, the weather is relatively cool and pleasant, making it ideal for exploring the area without the discomfort of extreme heat or monsoon rains. Winters in Nanded are mild, and the temperatures range between a comfortable 10°C to 25°C. Makar Sankranti, which occurs in mid-January, is a significant festival when many devotees take a holy dip in the river. Additionally, the Kumbh Mela, though less frequent and scheduled according to specific astrological positions, attracts millions of pilgrims when it does take place in Nashik, a city upstream. It's important to book accommodations well in advance if planning to visit during festivals, as the city can get quite busy during these times.
