Hin Ta and Hin Yai, also known as Grandfather and Grandmother Rocks, are famous natural landmarks located on the coast of Koh Samui, Thailand. While these iconic rock formations are themselves not directly related to food, the broader cultural and culinary history of Koh Samui is rich and interwoven with the island's status as a fishing community, coconut plantation haven, and, more recently, a global tourist destination. Traditional Samui cuisine is characterized by fresh seafood, coconut-based dishes, spicy curries, and the influence of Thai, Chinese, and even Malay flavors. Over time, with tourism playing a significant role in the economy, international cuisines have also taken root on the island.
