Reaching Hokkaido University in Sapporo, Japan

By Air

The nearest airport to Hokkaido University is the New Chitose Airport (CTS). After landing, you can make your way to Sapporo by:

Train: Board the JR rapid train from New Chitose Airport to Sapporo Station. The journey takes about 35-40 minutes. Hokkaido University is a short 15-minute walk from Sapporo Station.
Bus: Airport buses are available directly to Sapporo Station. From there, you can walk or take local transit to the university.
Taxi: You can also hire a taxi. It's the most straightforward but also the most expensive option.

By Train

Sapporo is accessible by the extensive JR train network. If you are traveling from other parts of Japan:

Take the Shinkansen (Bullet Train) to Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto, and then transfer to a limited express train to Sapporo Station.

By Bus

Inter-city buses connect Sapporo to various regions in Hokkaido. The Sapporo terminal is near the Sapporo Station, from which you can reach the university on foot or by local bus.

Within Sapporo

Once in Sapporo, you have several options:

By Subway: Take the Namboku Line or the Toho Line and get off at Sapporo Station.
By Bus: Several local bus lines serve the campus area.
On Foot: A 15-minute walk from Sapporo Station through the city centre will get you to the University's main entrance.

Inside the University

The university has a large campus with various buildings spread out. For ease of navigation:
