Step 1: Start from Hiroshima Station.
Step 2: Take the JR Sanyo Line to Miyajimaguchi Station. The trip usually takes about 26 minutes if you board a local or rapid train.
Step 3: Walk to the Miyajimaguchi ferry pier, which is a short distance away from the JR station.
Step 4: Take a ferry to Miyajima island. There are two ferry companies operating: JR Ferry and Matsudai Kisen. Both ferries are covered by the Japan Rail Pass if you have one.
Step 5: After arriving at Miyajima island, the shrine is a 10-minute walk from the ferry terminal.

Step 1: Take the Hiroshima Airport Limousine Bus to Hiroshima Station (~45 minutes).
