Jaigad Fort is perched on a cliff at the confluence of the Shastri river and the Arabian Sea in the coastal region of Konkan, located in the Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra, India. This 17th-century fort offers a commanding view of the sea and the adjacent Jaigad Lighthouse. Spread over an area of 13 acres, Jaigad Fort exhibits the Maratha architecture of ramparts and bastions, reflecting the glory of its erstwhile grandeur. The fort, having a strategic position at the bay, was used for naval warfare and as a guard post for ships entering the river. The ruins of the fort still hold the remnants of the palace, water tanks, and the main gate called the 'Maha Darwaja'. One can also find a deep dry moat around the fort adding to its defense mechanism. Today, visitors can explore the peaceful ruins and absorb the panoramic views offered by the strategic position of this fort.

Dilapilated
It is an old dilapilated fort that reminds us of the history of Jaigad. The sea views from the fort are stunning and are feast to the eyes.
