Best Time to Visit Kadisha Valley and Cedars of God

The Kadisha Valley, also known as the Qadisha Valley, is a stunning region in northern Lebanon. Famous for its deep gorges, historical monasteries, and scenic trails, the valley offers some of the country's most picturesque hikes. The best time to visit the Kadisha Valley for hiking purposes is in the spring (April to June) or fall (September to November). In the spring, the weather is comfortably cool, and nature is in full bloom, offering vibrant landscapes with a diverse array of wildflowers and greenery. Whereas in the fall, the change of foliage provides a breathtaking palette of colors, cooler temperatures, and a more tranquil trekking experience, as the summer crowds have dissipated.

Similarly, the ancient and magnificent Cedars of God forest, containing some of the last remaining old-growth Cedars of Lebanon, is best visited during the same periods. Spring brings mild weather and fewer visitors, allowing for a peaceful exploration of these majestic trees. During fall, not only do you avoid the summer heat and the winter snows, but you also get to see the splendid colors and feel the crisp air of the changing seasons. It is worth noting that the Cedars area can be much cooler than the valleys because of its higher elevation, so it's prudent to prepare accordingly with suitable clothing and gear. Irrespective of when you visit, the impressive natural beauty of Kadisha Valley and the ancient allure of the Cedars of God are sure to be highlights of your time in Lebanon.
