Kirateshwar Mahadev Temple, also known as Kirateshwar Mahadev Mandir, is a sacred Hindu shrine located in Legship, near Yuksom on the banks of the River Rangeet in West Sikkim, India. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is revered for its religious significance and historical importance. According to local folklore, the temple marks the site where the Pandava prince Arjuna worshipped Lord Shiva during their exile, and in return, Shiva appeared as a hunter to bless him with the celestial weapon 'Pashupatastra', which was later used in the Mahabharata war. The temple complex houses a main shrine dedicated to Shiva, accompanied by other smaller shrines and a holy water spring named 'Kirateshwar Dham', believed to have medicinal and spiritual healing properties. The temple's idyllic setting amidst lush greenery and the backdrop of the majestic Himalayas makes it a tranquil place for worship and meditation, attracting pilgrims and tourists alike.

Genuinely extraordinary..........................
This temple complex, housing both Buddhist and Hindu prayer halls is quite extraordinary. It is approched over a narrow, pedestrian only bridge over the Rangeet River, you are then required to remove..
