The Norbugang Coronation Throne in Yuksom, Sikkim, India is an important historical site that marks the place where the first Chogyal (king) of Sikkim was crowned in 1642. This historic event is considered the beginning of the Namgyal dynasty in Sikkim. The coronation spot is characterized by a large stone throne, known as the Norbugang Throne, which is surrounded by ancient forest and prayer flags that contribute to its serene atmosphere. The site is also home to a footprint believed to belong to one of the lamas who consecrated the king. Close to the throne, there is the Norbugang Chorten and a small lake known as Kathok Lake, which add to the sacredness of the location.
