Langkawi Underwater World is a well-known aquarium and marine showcase located at the southern end of Pantai Cenang, Langkawi, Malaysia. Spanning over 6,000 square meters, it is one of the largest marine and freshwater aquaria in Southeast Asia. The complex is divided into three sections: Tropical Rainforest, Temperate, and Sub-Antarctic. The Sub-Antarctic ecosystem, that includes a penguinarium with an underwater tunnel to view swimming penguins, is a highlight. Visitors can also find an Educational Resource Centre, a cafeteria, and a three-dimensional (3D) theatre. The Underwater World plays a crucial part in conservation and education efforts, showcasing over 4,000 different aquatic species including the rockhopper penguins, sharks, giant rays, and green turtles. Interactive zones and feeding sessions offer engaging experiences for all ages, making Underwater World Langkawi a meaningful and entertaining destination for tourists and marine enthusiasts.
A “good to see” experience. See the Penguins being fed at 11am and the Otters are fun at feeding time 11:45am.
Lots to see including an underwater passageway to watch giant turtles glide over the top ..
Better than I expected, So much to see, animals all looked well and cared for. Pitty some of the visitors don't understand what a quiet zone means. Glad we went.
