Best Time To Visit Lower Ghaghri Falls (Betla) In 2026 - 2027

Visit Lower Ghaghri Falls: The Ideal Time

The Lower Ghaghri Falls, a picturesque cascade located in Betla, within the state of Jharkhand, India, is an enchanting destination worth visiting. The best time to plan your visit is during the post-monsoon months, which are from October to March. During this period, the water levels are optimal, having been replenished by the monsoon rains, ensuring that the falls are at their most majestic. The monsoon, which typically ends in September, transforms the landscape into a lush and verdant area, making the scenery around the falls particularly breathtaking. Additionally, the weather during these months is cooler and more pleasant, making outdoor activities and sightseeing much more comfortable. It's a perfect time for trekkers, nature enthusiasts, and photographers to capture the charm of the waterfalls amidst the fresh greenery.

It is advisable to avoid visiting during the peak monsoon months, which are from July to September, as the heavy rains can make the area prone to slippery conditions, and at times, the falls might be inaccessible due to high water levels or flood risks. Summer months, from April to June, can be extremely hot in Jharkhand, making the excursion to the falls less enjoyable. However, if you can tolerate the heat, you will find fewer tourists and serene surrounding areas during this time. For nature lovers eager to witness local wildlife in Betla National Park nearby, the winter months are also ideal as many animals are more visible in the cooler weather.
