Best Time To Visit Maenam Beach (Koh Samui) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Maenam Beach, Koh Samui

Maenam Beach, situated on the northern coast of Koh Samui, Thailand, is renowned for its serene atmosphere and beautiful sunsets. The optimal time to visit Maenam Beach is typically between December and April. During these months, the weather is mostly dry and the water conditions are excellent for swimming. The average temperature hovers around 27°C to 29°C (81°F to 84°F), which is ideal for enjoying the sun and the sea. The peak tourist season falls in these months, especially around Christmas and New Year's, where the region experiences the most prolonged period of sunshine, while the rates for accommodation may be on the higher side due to the increased demand.

If you prefer a more tranquil experience and don't mind occasional showers, you might consider visiting Maenam Beach during the shoulder seasons which are May and November. During May, you'll witness the transition from the dry season to the wet season with occasional rainfall, yet still enjoy a considerable number of sunny days. In November, the rainfall starts to recede, offering fresh post-monsoon weather and lush landscapes, often with fewer tourists and more competitive hotel rates. It's worth noting that from September to mid-November, Koh Samui experiences its monsoon season, so visitors during this time should expect heavy rainfall and choppy sea, which may not be suitable for beach activities.
