Maheshkhali Island, the only hilly island of Bangladesh, is known for its scenic beauty, salt fields, and the Adinath Temple. Located off the coast of Cox's Bazar, it's a serene escape from the hustle of the city.

Getting There:

By Air:

  • The nearest airport is in Cox's Bazar. Take a flight from Dhaka to Cox's Bazar which operates daily.
  • Upon arrival, you can hire a taxi or take a rickshaw to the jetty areas such as Ghat No. 6 or Ghat No. 7.

By Road:

  • Bus services are available from major cities like Dhaka, Chittagong, and Teknaf to Cox's Bazar.
  • From Cox's Bazar Bus Terminal, take a rickshaw or taxi to the jetty.

By Boat:

  • From the jetty, you have to take a boat to reach Maheshkhali. Speedboats and trawlers are commonly used.
  • Speedboats take around 30 minutes and might be preferable for those short on time.
  • Trawlers are slower, taking about 90 minutes to 2 hours to reach Maheshkhali but they offer a more in-depth experience of local waterways.
