On the 22nd of October, when we were visiting massanjore dam and returning at 6pm , a young man came and demanded a parking fee for our car . Note that we have been here many times before and then there was no problem with these fee.In addition,there was never a day and no parking place that day . However, the young man demanded 50 rupees. In this case , he wants 70 rupees just to talk about receipts . This receipt showed no dam or official seal. Moreover, spelling mistakes are also noticeable. For this reason, when we refused to pay, the young man called a few more people and left with 50 rupees as a result of an argument.We didn't want to bother anymore with having women and children, secondly the police were not there.I did not dare to go to the police station. Because we are external . Above all ,it is doubtful how to positive the cooperation of the police will be. If this is the case , then 1) the place will be infamous and tourists wil not want to come here. The tourism industry is bound to perish . 2) Arrange for police patrol or full cooperation in this case. 3) Such fraudsters need to be identified now and punished or prevented . 4) If parking fee is required , it should be legalized . 5) It is recommended to start helplines in places. I am a senior citizen . This experience is very bitter to me . Hopefully, you will take a quick and fair action in this regard

A perfect picnic spot.

One of the Best place to visit when in town.
Baskichak (Massanjor dam) Very calm and peaceful place. Best time to visit is around sunrise and sunset for an awesome breathtaking experience.

Monsoon Bonanza
Massanjore dam, recently being on news reports is situated in jharkhand although it is maintained by the irrigation and waterways department of West Bengal.The dam is made upon river Mayurakshi mostly for irrigation purposes of Bardhaman and Birbhum districts of West Bengal.It has also 22megawatt of hydroelectricity facility.The place should be visited during monsoon. The weekends generally produce huge rush of local tourists.There is a irrigation bungalow and some private hotels to stay with.The green hillocks, the cloudy sky, the rain and the release of water from the barrage,the chirping of birds and a very calm moonlit night all these beckons massanjore.

Serene and tranquil nature.
The dam is very large and awfully beautiful but neglected by the local government and very small infrastructure is available to enjoy the nature, one of the most beautiful rest house of the local government is lacking basic minimum infrastructure and people those who are willing to stay at the Mayurakshi Bhavan of govt of West Bengal guest houses has to book from Kolkata, it's situated on the hill top and is spacious and well maintained, the quality and the quantity of food as well as the price is less expensive. Over all its a great value for money.
