Best Time to Visit Mehao Wildlife Sanctuary, Roing

Mehao Wildlife Sanctuary, located in the enchanting town of Roing in Arunachal Pradesh, is a natural haven for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. The sanctuary showcases a rich diversity of flora and fauna and provides a serene ambiance away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The best time to visit Mehao Wildlife Sanctuary is from October to April. During these months, the weather in Arunachal Pradesh is pleasant, with a mild winter climate that is neither too hot nor too cold. This period also coincides with the post-monsoon season when the forests are lush and vibrant, thanks to the rains that rejuvenate the region's greenery. The clear skies and reduced humidity levels also make for excellent wildlife viewing opportunities, as animals are more active and visible.

Moreover, the winter months, particularly between November to February, offer a comfortable climate for trekking and exploring the sanctuary's diverse habitats. You can spot numerous species of birds that migrate to this region, adding to the existing avifauna, making it an ideal time for birdwatching. However, it is important to note that the sanctuary might have some access restrictions during the monsoon season, from May to September, due to heavy rainfall leading to slippery trails and the potential for floods. Hence, it is always advisable to check the local conditions and consult with the sanctuary authorities before planning a visit during the monsoon period. Travelers are encouraged to carry appropriate clothing for cold weather if planning a trip during the winter, keeping in mind the cool mountainous temperatures.
