Best Time To Visit Mount Apo (Davao) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Mount Apo, Davao, Philippines

Mount Apo is a stunning destination in the Philippines and holds the title of being the country's highest peak. When planning a trek to this majestic mountain, timing is an important factor to consider. The best time to visit Mount Apo is during the dry season, which typically runs from December through April. During these months, the weather is more predictable, with a lower chance of heavy rainfall which can make the trails slippery and dangerous. The dry season also tends to offer clearer skies, ensuring that climbers have the best views and the most enjoyable hiking experience. Although it may be hotter during the day, the reduced rainfall will make the trip less challenging and the pathways easier to navigate.

Another factor to take into account is the Holy Week, which usually falls in March or April. While this can be a popular and rewarding time to climb due to the good weather, trails might be more crowded as locals and tourists alike take advantage of the long holiday. If you prefer a more solitary experience, planning your ascent outside of major holidays is advisable. Additionally, temperatures at the summit can significantly drop, especially at night, so ensure you are prepared with proper gear regardless of the daytime heat. Keep in the loop with local tourism offices or trekking companies for any changes in regulations or recommended climbing schedules as sometimes the trail can be temporarily closed for conservation purposes.
