Mudumalai National Park is nestled in the northeastern slopes of the Nilgiri Hills in Tamil Nadu, India. It is contiguous with Karnataka and Kerala states, acting as a wildlife corridor. This 321-square-km reserve is part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve and was established in 1940. It's known for its rich biodiversity and the varied ecosystems it encompasses, ranging from tropical moist forests to dry deciduous types. It is home to numerous endangered species, including the Bengal tiger, Indian elephant, and Indian leopard. Bird watchers will also find it to be a paradise, with over 260 species recorded in the park. The Moyar River running through the park is a vital water source for the flora and fauna.
