The Rose Garden in Ooty, Tamil Nadu, is renowned for housing one of the largest collections of roses in India, with more than 20,000 varieties. Situated on the slopes of the Elk Hill at an altitude of 2200 meters, this garden covers around 4 hectares and is designed beautifully on terraced slopes. Established in 1995, it is maintained by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The Rose Garden is not just a spectacle of hues but also a place of study for botanists and horticulturists. The garden includes Miniature Roses, Ramblers, Hybrid Tea Roses, and Floribunda among others, alongside unusual colored roses like black and green. The Ooty Rose Garden has been awarded the Garden of Excellence Award by the World Federation of Rose Societies for its remarkable collection. The garden's captivating layout with pergolas, arches, and tunnels adorned with roses make it an excellent destination for photographers and nature lovers.
