Situated in the Chandaka forest, near the Kanjia Lake, Nandankanan Zoological Park in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, is a famed 437-hectare zoo and botanical garden. Established in 1960, it became open to the public in 1979 and is the first zoo in the world to breed White tigers and Melanistic tigers. Nandankanan, meaning 'The Garden of Heavens', is home to over 1580 animals, including 634 mammals, 812 birds, and 134 reptiles, representing some 166 species, and is part of the breeding program for Indian crocodiles, Gharial, and Mugger. It's an exemplary location that combines wildlife conservation with public recreation. Apart from functioning as a zoo, it includes a Botanical Garden as well as part of it being declared a sanctuary. It's renowned for its white tiger safari, where visitors can observe these rare animals in a secure, natural habitat. The zoo recreates natural environments to house different species with its spacious and well-maintained enclosures. Additionally, Nandankanan provides boat rides on the lake and houses a ropeway, adding to its array of attractions.

Nandankanan zoo & safari.
Enjoyed the zoo, did the safari too but only 2tigers and 2lions were there in the jungle, few deer, buses to go to different points should be electric. Needs lots of improvement, scope for more animal..
