Visit Neugal Khad, Palampur

Best Time to Visit

The small but picturesque town of Palampur in Himachal Pradesh is home to Neugal Khad, a popular destination known for its stunning views and serene environment. The best time to visit Neugal Khad is between March and June, which is the summer season in the region. During these months, visitors can enjoy pleasant weather with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 28°C. This is an ideal time for sightseeing and enjoying the lush greenery as the valley is usually in full bloom. The clear skies and gentle breeze make for a perfect setting to capture breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and enjoy picnics by the Neugal stream.

Apart from the summer, another good time to visit is during the post-monsoon months of September to November. The monsoon rain (July to September) brings a fresh lease of life to the flora and fauna, making the landscape particularly verdant, but the heavy rainfall might lead to disruptions in travel plans. Post-monsoon, visitors will find Neugal Khad surrounded by the newly-refreshed, vibrant beauty of nature, with the advantage of fewer tourists. The weather is still comfortable, with temperatures hovering around 10°C to 20°C, making it suitable for outdoor activities. However, tourists should be aware that winters can be harsh with temperatures dropping below freezing, and snow occasionally cutting off road access.
