Best Time to Visit Old City of Acre, Acre (Akko), Israel

If you are planning a trip to the Old City of Acre (Akko), the best time to visit is during the spring (April to June) or autumn (September to November) when the weather is most pleasant. During these months, temperatures are typically mild, making it ideal for exploring this ancient port city without the burden of the intense heat that summer brings. The spring season also brings the added bonus of lush greenery and flowers blooming throughout the city, making it even more picturesque. Meanwhile, the autumn period avoids the heavy tourist traffic of summer, offering a more tranquil experience.

Additionally, visiting during these shoulder seasons will enable you to partake in various local festivals that occur throughout the year, such as the Acre Fringe Theater Festival in October or the Acre Opera Festival. It’s important to note that the Old City of Acre is a popular destination during Jewish holidays as well, such as Passover in the spring and Sukkot in the autumn, which might result in larger crowds and higher prices. Planning your visit around these holidays could either enhance your cultural experience or, if you prefer a quieter visit, may suggest times you might want to avoid.
