The Oura Catholic Church, designated as a National Treasure, is a symbol of Nagasaki's complex history and international connections. To truly appreciate its serene beauty and historical significance, the ideal time to visit is during the spring months, specifically from late March to early May. During this period, Nagasaki enjoys mild weather with comfortable temperatures, making it perfect for sightseeing. The cherry blossom season in particular, which usually peaks in late March or early April, provides a breathtaking backdrop to the church's Western-style architecture. Witnessing Oura Church surrounded by blooming cherry blossoms is a unique experience that blends distinct cultural symbols from both Japan and the West.

Another great time to visit Oura Catholic Church is during the Nagasaki Lantern Festival, which typically takes place in February to celebrate the Chinese New Year. The city is adorned with thousands of beautiful lanterns and vibrant decorations, adding a festive ambiance to your visit.
