Parangtritis Beach is a popular tourist destination located in the southern part of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. It is renowned for its stunning landscape, with miles of dark volcanic sand and rolling dunes juxtaposed against the powerful waves of the Indian Ocean. Being one of the most famous beaches in the province of Yogyakarta, Parangtritis offers a perfect blend of natural beauty with cultural significance. According to Javanese mythology, Parangtritis Beach is associated with the legend of Nyai Loro Kidul, or the Queen of the Southern Sea, believed to be the spiritual ruler of the sea. Visitors to the beach can explore the nearby caves, take a dip in the ocean, or enjoy a buggy ride across the dunes. It's also a great spot to witness a magnificent sunset. The beach area is surrounded by small shops selling local crafts and food stalls offering traditional Indonesian cuisine, which adds to the vibrant atmosphere of the place. However, swimming can be dangerous due to strong undercurrents, so caution is advised.
Stunning viewing points. Easily accessible by car (GRAB recommended). Amazing beach. Great food! Super friendly people.

We stayed in an hotel in Jogya with my family and decided to go there for a different afternoon.
You pay to enter Parangtritis road and you pay heavy parking fee’s after ehehehe
The place is average, ..
