The optimal time to visit Planten un Blomen Park in Hamburg predominantly hinges on what you're hoping to experience. If you're enthusiastic about witnessing the garden in full bloom and would relish the wide array of colors, then the best period to plan your visit is late spring to early summer (May to June). This timeframe allows you to enjoy the blossoming flowers, lush greenery, and the beginning of the water light concerts which start in May. Moreover, the temperatures are generally pleasant during this period, typically ranging from 10°C to 20°C (50°F to 68°F), making it comfortable for strolling and enjoying outdoor activities.

For those inclined towards fewer crowds and a serene experience, the early fall months (September and October) are also a commendable choice. Furthermore, the park organizes events and exhibitions year-round, so no matter when you visit, there’s likely to be something special happening. Keep in mind, however, that Hamburg's weather can be unpredictable, so it's advisable to check the forecast and come prepared with suitable clothing for the season.
