Best Time To Visit Poti (Georgia) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Poti, Georgia

Visiting Poti, a charming port city on the eastern Black Sea coast in Georgia, is a delightful experience which can vary significantly depending on the time of year. The best time to visit Poti for favorable weather is between late spring and early autumn, specifically from May to September. During this period, the temperatures are warm but usually not excessively hot, which is ideal for exploring the city and surrounding natural areas. The climate in Poti is humid subtropical, characterized by relatively high humidity and precipitation throughout the year, but these months offer the most pleasant balance for outdoor activities. Moreover, the increased sunshine hours make this the perfect time for sightseeing and enjoying the local beaches.

If you're particularly interested in birdwatching or experiencing Poti's diverse wildlife, the spring months of April and May are particularly rewarding, as this is when many migratory birds pass through the region. However, it's worth noting that while July and August offer the warmest temperatures, perfect for beach-goers, these months can also be the most crowded, as they coincide with peak tourist season. To avoid the highest crowds while still enjoying good weather, consider planning your visit in early June or late September. During these times, you'll be able to comfortably indulge in outdoor activities, such as visiting the nearby Kolkheti National Park or taking a boat tour through the Paliastomi Lake, without having to navigate through throngs of tourists.
