Exploring Roxas Avenue Night Market: A Tourism Gem in Davao City

Roxas Avenue Night Market has become one of Davao City's most popular destinations for both locals and tourists alike. History of Roxas Avenue Night Market

The night market started modestly, with a group of local street food vendors and makeshift stalls lining the Roxas Avenue. This setup quickly earned its reputation for offering an array of delightful local street food, various merchandise, and a vibrant atmosphere for night-time shopping, dining, and entertainment. The market typically opens from early evening until the very late hours of the night, catering to the nightlife crowd seeking an authentic Davao experience.

However, the night market's history took a dark turn on September 2, 2016, when a bombing incident resulted in numerous casualties. It was a grave period for the people of Davao City as well as the tourists who frequented the location. Nevertheless, the resilient spirit of the Davaoenos shone through as the market reopened shortly after, implementing tighter security measures to ensure the safety of visitors.
