Best Time To Visit Sana'a (Yemen) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Sana'a, Yemen

The best time to visit Sana'a, the capital city of Yemen, is typically between March and May or from late September to early November. During these months, the city experiences mild weather, which is quite pleasant for sightseeing and exploring the ancient architecture and vibrant markets. The daytime temperatures hover around a comfortable 15-25°C (59-77°F), which is ideal for tourists to enjoy the city's offerings without the extreme heat that can come in the summer months when temperatures can rise considerably.

Additionally, another aspect to consider when planning a trip to Sana'a is the city's elevation. Located at an altitude of around 2,300 meters (7,500 feet) above sea level, Sana'a has a highland climate which makes it cooler than other regions of Yemen that have desert climates. This can be particularly refreshing during the spring and autumn periods when the highland areas enjoy the most stable climate. Visitors should also be aware of the rainy season, which typically occurs from July to September, which can lead to occasional flooding and travel disruptions. Therefore, planning your visit outside of the rainy season will ensure a more comfortable and reliable travel experience.
