Renting a car is the most convenient option to reach the Sea of Galilee. From Tel Aviv, take Route 6 and then Route 65 to Route 77, which will take you directly to Tiberias. The drive typically takes around 2 hours.
Israel Railways operates services from Ben Gurion Airport to various cities. To reach Tiberias, you can take a train to the city of Afula or Beit She’an, and then switch to a bus for the remaining journey. Egged is the main bus company providing services to Tiberias.
Shared taxis (sherut) are available and can be a cost-effective option for solo travelers. Private taxis or pre-booked shuttles can also be arranged, but they will cost significantly more.
While in Tiberias, consider visiting the Hamat Tiberias National Park known for its ancient synagogue and thermal baths, the Golan Heights for its stunning landscapes and wineries, and the Mount of Beatitudes, the traditional site of Jesus' Sermon on the Mount.
