The most convenient way to reach Shibuya Crossing is by train. Shibuya Station is a major transport hub in Tokyo. Japan Railways (JR) including the Yamanote Line, Saikyo Line, and Shonan Shinjuku Line have service to this station. If you are on the Tokyo Metro, you can use the Ginza Line, Hanzomon Line, or Fukutoshin Line. The Tokyu Toyoko Line and Den-en-toshi Line, as well as the Keio Inokashira Line, also stop here.
There are several buses that service the area around Shibuya. The Shibuya Station Bus Terminal is adjacent to the train station, and it serves as a stopping point for many city and long-distance buses.
While driving is an option, it is generally not recommended for tourists due to heavy congestion and the complexity of Tokyo's road systems. Taxis, however, can be a convenient, though more expensive, mode of transport to Shibuya Crossing.
Take the Narita Express (N'EX) directly to Shibuya Station, which is about a 90-minute ride, or take the Keisei Skyliner to Nippori Station and transfer to the Yamanote Line to reach Shibuya.
The Tokyo Monorail goes to Hamamatsucho Station, where you can transfer to the Yamanote Line, which takes you to Shibuya. Alternatively, you can use the Keikyu Airport Line to Shinagawa Station, and change to the Yamanote Line.
Shibuya is a pedestrian-friendly area, and if you are staying within central Tokyo, walking might be an enjoyable way to explore the city en route to the crossing. Bicycles can be rented, but navigating through the crowded streets can be challenging for those not accustomed to cycling in busy urban areas.
