Best Time to Visit Sodal Mandir, Jalandhar

Visiting the Sodal Mandir in Jalandhar can be a deeply spiritual experience, and to make the most of your visit, it is advisable to plan your trip carefully. The temple holds immense significance for the followers of Baba Sodal, and the best time to visit is during the annual fair called Sodal Mela. The fair takes place in the month of Bhadon, which corresponds to the month of September in the Gregorian calendar. The festival is celebrated on the day of Anant Chaturdashi, and throngs of devotees gather at the temple to pay homage to the child deity, Baba Sodal. The weather in September is transitioning from the monsoons to the onset of autumn, making it relatively comfortable for visitors, with moderate temperatures that are ideal for outdoor activities.

Apart from the Sodal Mela, the temple is open throughout the year, and you can plan a visit anytime when you desire a calmer and quieter experience. The months from October to March are generally the most pleasant in Punjab, as the weather is cooler compared to the scorching Indian summers. Winters in Jalandhar are mild to cold, with temperatures ranging from 5°C to 20°C. This period is also ideal for exploring the city and its surroundings without worrying about the intense heat. However, do note that early mornings and nights can be quite cold, so packing warm clothing is essential during the winter months.
