Anandpur Sahib, also known as 'the holy City of Bliss,' is a city situated in the Rupnagar district (Ropar) of Punjab, India. It is historically significant for Sikhs as one of their most important pilgrimage sites. Anandpur Sahib was founded in 1665 by the ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur. He erected several gurdwaras, among which the most important is Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib, one of the five temporal authorities (Takhts) of Sikhism. Anandpur Sahib is surrounded by mesmerizing scenic beauty with the backdrop of the Shivalik Hills. It is renowned for hosting the annual Hola Mohalla festival, which brings in a vast congregation of Sikhs from around the world, showcasing their martial skills and traditions in a colorful spectacle.
