Best Time To Visit Spangmik Village (Pangong Lake) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Spangmik Village, Pangong Tso, Ladakh

Ladakh's remote Spangmik Village is renowned for its proximity to the breathtaking Pangong Tso Lake, one of the region's crown jewels. The optimal time to visit this tranquil oasis is during the summer months, which span from May to September. During this period, the weather conditions are most favorable, with temperatures ranging from 5°C to 25°C. These months offer clear skies and access to uninterrupted views of the lake's strikingly vivid turquoise waters, framed by stark mountain ranges.

Traveling outside of these recommended months is not advisable, as harsh winter conditions set in around October and last through April. This period can see temperatures plunging well below freezing, with heavy snowfall making roads impassable and sometimes leading to the complete freezing of Pangong Tso itself. Although winter presents a unique icy spectacle, accessibility becomes a major concern, as the risk of road closures and acute mountain sickness increases significantly. Hence, to fully enjoy Spangmik Village's serene environment and the captivating beauty of Pangong Tso without any hurdles, planning your visit during the summer season is indeed the golden window.
