By Air

Lhasa Gonggar Airport (LXA) is the main airport serving Lhasa, located about 62 kilometers (approximately 40 miles) south of the city. After arriving at the airport, you can take a taxi or an airport shuttle bus to reach the city center. The Tibet Museum is located in the southwest of the Potala Palace in Lhasa city (about 2 kilometers away).

By Train

Lhasa can also be reached by the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, which is the highest railway in the world, connecting Lhasa with several major cities in China such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Chengdu. Once you arrive at the Lhasa Railway Station, you can hire a taxi or take public transportation to reach the Tibet Museum.
