Tiger Cave Temple, or Wat Tham Suea, is a sacred Buddhist temple complex in Krabi, Thailand. It is well-known for its stunning natural surroundings and the challenging flight of stairs leading to the temple itself. The temple sits on a tall limestone cliff from which visitors can gain panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, including lush forests, limestone cliffs, and even the Andaman Sea on a clear day. The main attraction is the 'footprint of Buddha' atop the mountain. The site is named after the tiger paw prints in the cave, and local legend suggests that tigers used to roam the caves. There are several caves within the complex, as well as a large, golden Buddha statue at the top. The arduous climb consists of 1,237 steps that are steep and uneven, making it a physical challenge that is nevertheless rewarding. The cultural and spiritual significance of the temple, combined with the natural beauty of the site, make it a popular spot for both tourists and pilgrims.
