Bamboo Island Tourism

Bamboo Island, known locally as Koh Mai Phai, is a gorgeous island near Krabi in Thailand. This small island is part of the Phi Phi Archipelago and is a true tropical paradise with a shape reminiscent of a heart from aerial views. Encircled by a strip of white sand, its central part is covered with lush bamboo and other greenery, giving the island its name. The surrounding waters are crystal clear, offering excellent conditions for snorkeling with vibrant coral reefs just a short swim away from the shore. The island is quite small, and tourists can walk around it in about 30 minutes. The beach is perfect for sunbathing and relaxing while taking in the serene beauty. There are no permanent residents on the island, preserving its pristine condition, but during the day, it can get busy with visitors coming in on longtail boats and speedboats. In an effort to preserve the environment, the National Park authority may collect an entry fee from visitors.
