The Tomb of Khan Jahan Ali is a historical and architectural heritage site located in the Bagerhat district, within the division of Khulna, Bangladesh. This revered tomb belongs to the 15th-century Muslim saint Ulugh Khan Jahan Ali, who is revered for his role in the spread of Islam in the region and developmental works. The monument reflects the pre-Mughal architectural style, characterized by the thick brick walls and a large central dome surrounded by smaller domed cupolas at the corners. The construction evidences the Sultanate era's sophistication with its terracotta decorations and Islamic calligraphy. The tomb complex also includes a mosque and a large tank, known as the Thakur Dighi, believed to have healing properties and attracts many visitors, especially for the annual fair beside the tank. The entire site is also part of the UNESCO World Heritage-designated historic mosque city of Bagerhat, an exceptional example of an ancient Islamic city in the subcontinent, showcasing a harmonious blend of urban, architectural, and spiritual elements.
