The Two Towers, known locally as Le Due Torri, are the symbolic landmarks of Bologna, Italy. They are located at the Piazza di Porta Ravegnana and are among the few remaining medieval structures that once defined the city's skyline. The taller tower, named Asinelli, stands at 97.2 meters, whereas the shorter but more leaning one, Garisenda, is about 48 meters tall. Constructed between 1109 and 1119, the towers were originally built by noble families, possibly as a status symbol and for defensive purposes. Tourists can climb the 498 steps of the taller Asinelli Tower to enjoy panoramic views of the city. The inclination of the Garisenda Tower is so pronounced that it's often compared to the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa, although it is not possible to enter it. The surrounding area offers a glimpse into the city's past with beautiful historic buildings, and it's also a vibrant cultural space with plenty of restaurants, cafes, and shops.
