How to Reach Kashmir from Delhi/Mumbai – By Flight, Train

If you are looking for a quick and convenient way to reach Kashmir from either Delhi or Mumbai, catching a flight is the best option.
From Delhi: Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) offers regular flights to Srinagar. The flight duration is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. You can choose from various airlines like Air India, IndiGo, and Vistara. The ticket prices can range from ?3000 to ?10000 depending on the season and availability.
From Mumbai: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) also operates flights to Srinagar. The duration of the flight is around 2.5 to 3 hours. Airlines like GoAir, SpiceJet, and Air India provide these services. The ticket prices may vary from ?5000 to ?12000.
By Train:
Although there are no direct trains to Kashmir, you can still opt for the rail route combined with a road journey.
From Delhi:
Step 1: Board a train from New Delhi Railway Station to Jammu Tawi Railway Station. Several trains like Jammu Rajdhani and Shalimar Express operate on this route. The train journey usually takes around 10 to 12 hours. You can book tickets ranging from ?500 to ?2000 based on the class and availability.
Step 2: Upon reaching Jammu, you can hire a taxi or board a bus to Srinagar, which is approximately a 7 to 8 hours scenic drive through the stunning valleys of Kashmir.
From Mumbai:
Step 1: Catch a train from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus to New Delhi Railway Station. The journey takes approximately 16 to 18 hours. Trains like Mumbai Rajdhani and August Kranti Rajdhani operate on this route with ticket prices ranging from ?1000 to ?3000.
Step 2: Follow the same route as mentioned above from Delhi to Srinagar.
