The Adi Baba Mandir is a revered shrine located at an altitude of about 13,123 feet near Zuluk in the Eastern part of Sikkim, India. It is dedicated to Baba Harbhajan Singh, a soldier of the Indian Army who is fondly remembered for his dedication to duty. Baba Harbhajan Singh is treated as a saint and believed by soldiers to guard the lives of soldiers along the hostile border between India and China. The original temple was built by the Indian army and later a new temple structure was constructed at the actual site of the bunker of Baba Harbhajan Singh. It's set amidst a tranquil environment surrounded by picturesque mountains, making it a unique blend of patriotism, spirituality, and natural beauty. The temple area is maintained by the Indian Army and is a symbol of the high altitude soldiering facing the challenges posed by nature and the line of control. The site draws visitors who come to pay homage, and it is considered good luck to visit the temple for those venturing near the border area or trekkers exploring the Old Silk Route.
