The Akhand Chandi Palace is situated in Chamba, a town in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Surrounded by the majestic Shivalik ranges, this palace was built by Raja Umed Singh in the 18th century and exhibits a unique blend of Mughal and British architecture. Later, the British added the touch of their architectural style to the palace. The beautifully decorated ceilings and the wooden chhatris are a testament to its grandeur and craftsmanship. From the palace, one can have a panoramic view of the Chamba valley and the Ravi river, making it a photographer’s delight. It was once the royal residence of the kings of Chamba, and now it stands as an important historical monument that reflects the richness of Chamba's history and culture. The palace is in close proximity to the famous Chamunda Devi Temple and Hari Rai Temple, which adds religious significance to the location. Furthermore, it houses a government college and a district library, ensuring that the palace remains a hub of activity and not just a remnant of the past.
