It is also known as Dal Lake. The lake is a significant Hindu pilgrimage site, deemed to be the abode of Lord Shiva, and it is the venue of a highly revered pilgrimage known as Manimahesh Yatra, which takes place every year in the month of August or September. The lake is approximately 2 km in circumference and offers breathtaking views of the towering peaks, especially the Manimahesh Kailash Peak, which is said to be one of the homes of Lord Shiva. The pristine waters of the lake are believed to be holy, with devotees taking a dip to cleanse their sins.
